Gators Secure First CSAC Win

Box Score Clarks Summit, Pa. --  Notre Dame of Maryland University defeated Baptist Bible College 69-56 for their first road victory in the Colonial States Athletic Conference December in 2010 and their first win over the Defenders since 2008.  

A close first half with 7 lead changes saw the Gators ahead 35-30 at the half.  Notre Dame would pull away in the second half to take a 17 point lead with a minute remaining.  

In the game, three Gators saw career highs including one with two season highs.  Freshman Zaria Comer (Leesburg, Va. / Tuscarora) had a career night leading the team in points scored, rebounds, and blocks in her fourth career double-double.  Comer scored a team, season and career high 27 points, 17 of which came in the first half while adding 10 rebounds and a season high five blocks.  Freshman Allyson Whitacre (Jarresttsville, Md./ North Harford) , one rebound shy of her second career double-double, added a season high 19 points with nine rebounds.  Freshman Stephanie Roche (Baltimore, Md. / Perry Hall) scored a career high 13 points with three baskets from beyond the arc while adding 3 assists with freshman Ashley Guy (Leonardtown, Md.) adding a career high eight rebounds, seven of which came on the offensive end.  

The Gators will see a break in action before returning to the court next Saturday as they host Trinity Washington University in their first of two matchups of the year.
