Gators Suffer Tough Loss

Box Score Baltimore, Md. --  The Notre Dame of Maryland University basketball team hosted Colonial States Athletics Conference opponent Gwynedd Mercy University in their first game of the new year.  A tough first half effort by the Gators wasn't enough to propel them over the Griffins as they fell, 52-83.  Prior to tonight's match up, the Gators averaged only 29 points against the Griffins over the past four seasons.

The Gators saw three players tally 11 points each led by freshman Ashley Guy (Leonardtown, Md.) who recorded her first career double-double.  Guy had a career night posting a team season high 16 rebounds while adding an individual high 11 points.  Freshman Zaria Comer (Leesburg, Va. / Tuscarora) posted 11 points and was a rebound shy of her sixth career double-double while adding a team high three blocks on the night.  Freshman Allyson Whitacre (Jarrettsville, Md. / North Harford) added 11 points, seven rebounds, a game high three assists, and was 4-4 from the foul line.

Notre Dame continues conference play as they travel to Keystone College Saturday.  Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
