Notre Dame Claims Victory in Dual Meet

MEET RESULTS

New Rochelle, N.Y. -- The Notre Dame of Maryland University swim team pulled out a dual meet victory over John Jay College and College of New Rochelle Saturday.  In the 82-78 win over John Jay and 101-67 win over New Rochelle, the Gators had five first place finishes.

Senior Emily Jordan (Bel Air, Md. / C. Milton Wright) led the Gators with first place finishes all three events she competed in Saturday.  In her first race of the meet, Jordan recorded a time of 2:26.89 in the 200 IM.  In the next race of the dual meet, Jordan pulled out a first place victory in the 100 butterfly in 1:06.35.  Jordan later claimed first in the 500 freestyle in 5:55.39.

Junior Margret Pedersen (Brick, N.J.) and freshman Mary Claire Waterman (Catonsville, Md.) both notched first place victories, with Pedersen adding two second place finishes on the day.  Pedersen claimed first in the 1000 freestyle in 13:18.23 while later Waterman would pull out a win in the 100 freestyle in 1:10.73.  Pedersen also placed second in both the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke.

Next for the Notre Dame, they host local rival Goucher College Wednesday November 18.  Meet time is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
