Box Score Baltimore, Md. -- Notre Dame of Maryland University's volleyball team swept Delaware Valley University 3-0 in the Gators home opener to pick up their first victory of the season.
Sophomore
Ashley Pasker (Newark, N.J./University) paced the offense with 14 kills, with sophomore
Bobbi McDowell (Shady Side, Md./Bishop McNamara) adding seven. Sophomore
Jamie Reyes (Yorba Linda, Calif.) posted 25 assists on the night, while sophomore
Cleaya Antes (Carson, Calif./California Academy of Math and Science) would notch six aces.
Defensively, Antes would finish with a game high 24 digs and sophomore
Grace Park (Clarksville, Md./Atholton) chipped in with nine. Sophomore
Brooke Bowman (Garden City, Mich.) would contribute five total blocks to the team, including a career-high four solo blocks,
Notre Dame took control early and wouldn't allow the Aggies to get close in the first two sets, winning 25-7 and 25-9. The third set saw closer action as the Aggies would keep the set within four points most of the way, eventually tying the score at 16-16, but the Gators managed to pull away at the end to capture a 25-17 third set win. With the win, the Gators move to 1-1 on the year and will enjoy a week away from action until they host PSU-Harrisburg on Wednesday, September 9.
