Gators Drop Music City Opener

Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn.  – In their first game in the Music City Classic, Notre Dame of Maryland fell to Shenandoah University, 69-50.  The Gators held the Hornets scoreless in the last three minutes of the fourth quarter, but a slow start by Notre Dame kept them out of reach of Shenandoah.

Senior Zaria Comer led the team in scoring, posting 13 points, going 5-for-9 from the floor and 3-for-4 from the free throw line.  Junior Justine Mudiay also had solid performance against the Hornets as she tallied 11 points, with eight rebounds, three assists and two blocks. 

Senior Ashley Guy led the team in rebounds with nine, while the team finished with 44 for their sixth game this season with 40 or more.  They currently lead the Colonial States Athletic Conference in defensive rebounds per game with 29.3.  As team the Gators finished with nine blocks, a season-high for the team.  Comer and freshman Keyeria Dawson led the way with three apiece.

Notre Dame will next face Washington and Jefferson University tomorrow at 4:00p.m. EST/ 3:00 p.m. CST at Trevecca Nazarene University.
