Strong Hitting By Knights Overpowers Gators

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 BEL AIR, Md. – The Notre Dame softball team was swept by Colonial States Athletic Conference leader, Neumann University, Tuesday afternoon.  Both games ended in five innings, the Gators falling 16-1 and 26-0. 

Sophomore Sammy Kastner scored the only run for Notre Dame over their doubleheader with the Knights, scoring off a sacrifice fly ball hit by sophomore Maddie King.  Prior to King's at bat, freshmen Sydney Salgado and Hanna Morseman walked and singled, respectively, to get Kastner in scoring position.  Morseman finished the night with two hits, batting .400.  Kastner and sophomore Lilly Gordon also registered hits, while Salgado finished the doubleheader with four walks.  King had four strikeouts over five innings pitched. 

The Gators move to 4-17-1 overall this season and 3-11 in conference play.  They will host Cabrini University Friday at Coppin State University and then will hit the road Saturday, at Keystone College.
