ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Colonial States Athletic Conference announced the honorees for this week's Players of the Week. The Gators had two student-athletes honored in their 2-0 week, including one CSAC victory.
In her first career CSAC recognition, sophomore
Jaya Green was named the CSAC Defensive Player of the Week. This past week, Green tallied 12 defensive rebounds, two blocks, and two steals. She finished the week averaging 9.0 rebounds per game and 6.0 points. She currently leads the team in rebounds (6.0), steals (1.1) and blocks (0.8) per game. The Gators held Clarks Summit and Immaculata to an average 43.5 points per game. This is her first recognition this season and the third this year for the team.
Also earning conference recognition is, sophomore
Adrianna Fletcher, being named to the CSAC Honor Roll. In her standout week, Fletcher averaged 9.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. Against Immaculata on Saturday, she recorded her first career double-double tallying 16 points and 10 rebounds. She downed four of the team's six three-pointers, which accounted for all but one basket from the floor. This is her second career weekly recognition for the conference. Last season she earned Honor Roll status for her play in the first week of January.
The Gators are currently 3-0 in December and 4-5 overall. This is the team's first three-game win streak since the 2008-09 season, where they went on two separate three-game win streaks. A win tomorrow against Wesley College would be the first four-game win streak since the 2006-07 season.
