Box Score 2 DUNDALK, Md. – The Notre Dame softball team hosted Marywood University Saturday afternoon at Community College of Baltimore County – Dundalk, for a Colonial States Athletic Conference doubleheader. In game one, the Pacers defeated the Gators, 9-0 as the Marywood pitcher pitched a perfect game against NDMU in five innings. In game two against the Pacers, Notre Dame got their bats going, but eventually fell to Marywood, 15-4.
At the plate, NDMU was led by sophomore
Isa Carunungan who hit for .750 in game two, posting three hits in four at bats. She also scored two of the Gators' runs. In the field, Carunungan recorded six assisted and seven putouts in the field, in a perfect fielding day at shortstop.
Sophomore,
Hanna Morseman hit for .667 in game two, recording two hits in three at bats. Morseman had one of NDMU's RBIs, scoring Carunungan in the fourth inning in game two off a single up the middle. Junior
Samantha Kastner, had two RBIs against the Pacers batting in runs in both the third and fourth innings. Junior
Madison King also registered a RBI in game two, scoring Kastner from third in the fourth inning. King and Kastner currently lead the team this season in RBIs nine apiece.
The Gators will continue their 2018 schedule on Tuesday as they host local opponent, Washington Adventist University at CCBC Dundalk. The doubleheader is scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. start.
