Rudolph Promoted to Head Coach

BALTIMORE, Md. – After being in the interim head coach for the Gator soccer program since February, Notre Dame of Maryland University (NDMU) Athletics announced Thursday that Lexi Rudolph has been promoted to head coach.

"We are excited for the 2018 soccer season with Lexi at the helm," said Renee Bostic, Director of Athletics at NDMU. "She has demonstrated extraordinary leadership in the recruitment of our new student-athletes and growing our program here at Notre Dame.

Rudolph first came to Notre Dame in the spring of 2017 volunteering for the program, helping with recruiting and new student-athlete onboarding.  In fall 2017, Rudolph officially joined the NDMU coaching staff as an assistant coach, working heavily with the Gator goalkeepers.

"I'm thrilled and grateful for this opportunity to continue to move the Gators soccer program forward," said coach Rudolph. "I am especially thankful for the Athletics Department Administration for helping me during the transition and entrusting the program to me, and for the support the players have shown me during this time as well. I'm extremely excited for our fall season as I'm confident we will continue building upon our success from this past spring."

Rudolph is a 2017 graduate of Goucher College, finishing her career with the best goals against average in program history for the Gophers at 1.20 per game.  She posted 12 shutouts in her career which is third in the Goucher record books.

Rudolph has been coaching at the club level since 2014, having coached for Towson United Girls Soccer Club.  She was the Technical Director of Goalkeeping for the Towson United, in which she helped develop and implement training sessions for the club goalkeepers.

The Gators will open their 2018 season on September 2nd at home.
