BALTIMORE- The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) released its weekly awards on Monday, Jan. 16 and for the second straight week Notre Dame of Maryland University's
Daija Fitchett was named the CSAC Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
Fitchett posted another double-double in the teams win over defending CSAC Champion Clarks Summit, finishing with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Currently, Fitchett leads the conference in total rebounds (162), total defensive rebounds (128) and blocked shots (16).
This is the seventh time in her career that Fitchett has been named CSAC Player of the Week. She is also the two-time defending CSAC Defensive Player of the Year.
Kori People was named to the CSAC Weekly Honor Roll after averaging 21.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in the Gators two wins. People recorded her first career double-double in the team's win over Clarks Summit, finishing with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
The Gators will return home to face Cedar Crest College on Wednesday, Jan. 18. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
