Arlington, Va.- The Notre Dame of Maryland women's soccer team fell for the first time this season, losing to Marymount University by a score of 4-0 on Monday, Sept. 11.
The Gators (1-1 Overall) struggled to maintain possession in the opening 15 minutes of the game, but their defense manager to fluster the Saints (1-3-1 Overall) attack. Marymount grabbed the lead in the 17th minute, scoring after earning a corner kick. NDMU slowed the Saints over the next 15 minutes, but Marymount scored twice before the half to take a commanding 3-0 lead at the break.
NDMU's best scoring chance came early in the second half. After earning a free kick,
Cyrah Bihler created some space in the offensive of the field, firing a shot on frame that was saved by the Saints goalkeeper. Marymount put the game out of reach, scoring in the 72nd minute to secure a 4-0 victory.
