GREENWOOD, Ind. — The College Sports Communicators (CSC) released its 2024 Softball Academic All-District Teams on Tuesday, with NDMU's Jessie Leatherwood among the honorees.
Leatherwood ended her career with an exclamation point, being named United East Pitcher and Player of the year. As a hitter, she was outstanding hitting .433 with 42 hits including 16 extra base hits. She drove in 23 RBIs on the year. This season, Leatherwood became the all-time leader in hits, currently she is sitting at 134 hits. Inside the circle, she was equally as impressive. Leatherwood finished the season with a record of 9-4, posting an ERA of 2.86 and a WHIP of 1.28. She pitched 88.0 innings, recording 109 strikeouts this spring. Leatherwood is the program's record holder in wins, ERA and strikeouts.
