GREENWOOD, Ind. — The College Sports Communicators (CSC) released its 2024 Softball Academic All-District Teams on Tuesday, with NDMU's Jessie Leatherwood among the honorees. 

Leatherwood ended her career with an exclamation point, being named United East Pitcher and Player of the year. As a hitter, she was outstanding hitting .433 with 42 hits including 16 extra base hits. She drove in 23 RBIs on the year. This season, Leatherwood became the all-time leader in hits, currently she is sitting at 134 hits. Inside the circle, she was equally as impressive. Leatherwood finished the season with a record of 9-4, posting an ERA of 2.86 and a WHIP of 1.28. She pitched 88.0 innings, recording 109 strikeouts this spring. Leatherwood is the program's record holder in wins, ERA and strikeouts. 

In addition, Leatherwood has been nominated for the CSC Academic All-American Team that will be release later this summer. The complete list of CSC Softball Academic All-District honorees can be found here.
