LATHAM, N.Y. – The United East released its weekly awards on Monday, Oct. 16 and for the first time this season, women's volleyball's Natalie Newton was named Offensive Player of the Week.  

Newton led NDMU's offense as the Gators went 3-0 last week, recording 74 total assists, averaging 24.3 per match. The senior recorded a career-high 36 assists in NDMU's five set victory over Mary Baldwin University. In addition, Newton racked up 11 service aces in the three outings, including 5 in the win over the Fighting Squirrels. 
  
The women's volleyball team will return to action when they travel to face the University of Valley Forge on Tuesday, Oct. 17. The first serve is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
