LATHAM, N.Y. – The United East released its weekly awards on Monday, Sept. 25 and for the third-straight week, women's volleyball's Paulina Hernandez was named Defensive Player of the Week. 
 
Hernandez continued her outstanding defensive play this past week, registering 20 digs in the teams match up with Gallaudet and then 31 digs in Saturday's game against Bowie St. University. In addition to her defensive production, Hernandez has been an excellent server, adding five more service aces. 
 
On the season, Hernandez is averaging 5.72 digs per set, ranking 14th in all of NCAA Division III and her 229 digs are the 26th most in the country. Hernandez, currently ranks 31st in the country in service aces.
 
Women's volleyball will host NCAA Division II opponent Lincoln University (Pa.) on Wednesday, Sept. 27. The first serve is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
