Hall of Fame
On January 31, 2016 Athletic Director, Erin Foley inducted Swim Head Coach, Curt Jordan into the Notre Dame Hall of Fame at the final home swim meet for the Notre Dame swim program. Jordan was at the held of the Notre Dame swim program for 27 years, finishing his career with a 167-121 overall record since 1989.
Curt finished his career as the longest-tenured coach in Notre Dame Athletics history. He won three Coach of the Year Awards and led his team to six AWCC Swimming Championships. Four swimmer that played for Jordan were inducted into Notre Dame's Hall of Fame.
During his tenure, Jordan was instrumental in ensuring that the Notre Dame swim program always had a post-season championship event to attend. He secured membership in the Atlantic States Swim Championship, which eventually led to an associate membership for Notre Dame in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, and the ability to participate in their post-season events.
Curt Jordan was a special coach, putting his student-athletes before anything. Coaching to Curt was never about him or the accolades and awards, it was always about his girls, the team, and his program. He is remembered for his fierce loyalty to his team, and working tirelessly to ensure that his team had the best experience possible, and at the same time, help them achieve their goals.
At start the final meet, Jordan unveiled a banner in LeClerc Pool that displayed every student-athlete's name that swam for Notre Dame's since 1939.
