Hall of Fame
Inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1999, Mary Iglehart Taylor Duke was a 1949 graduate and earned her degree in Modern Foreign Languages. A five-sport athlete, she played badminton, basketball, field hockey, tennis and volleyball.
During her career at Notre Dame, she received the school's White Blazer Award, and award given to the student acclaimed as the all-around Notre Dame girl of the year.
A former member of the Renaissance Institute Member at Notre Dame, she continued to stay active throughout her life. During the 1990's, the competed in the Maryland Senior Olympics, winning gold, silver and bronze medals for both basketball and tennis.
