Toyah Houck ’94 was inducted to the 10th Hall of Fame class in 2000.

Toyah Houck started every basketball and lacrosse game in her four years at Notre Dame. She made her mark early when she was named Outstanding Underclass Athlete as a freshman.

Houck captained the basketball team in 1993-1994 and was the team’s MVP in 1991-1992 and 1993-1994. She still holds school records for most free throws in a game, most free throws all time, most field goals all time, most rebounds all time, best rebound per game average, and is tied for steals in a game. She is #2 in total points with 1,428 in her career and is ranked #1 in rebounds with 1,117. She was awarded numerous All-Tournament honors throughout her career, and her name appears in the NCAA record book, as she is ranked 16th in the category of All-Time Individual Leaders in Rebounding Average, with an average of 12.6 rebounds per game.

In lacrosse, Houck served as captain for two years in 1992 and 1993. In 1994, she won the Unsung Hero award and was a Regional All-American Honorable Mention. In the lacrosse record book, she is ranked #2 in goals, #2 in assists, and #2 in points. Her sister, Tinah Houck, broke those records a few years later. Toyah Houck was also named to several All-Tournament teams in lacrosse as well.

Houck graduated with a degree in Communications, and coached basketball and lacrosse at Friends School. She also coached basketball at Patapsco High and lacrosse at Parkville High before pursuing a Master’s in Technology Education at Fairfield University, where she served as an Assistant Lacrosse Coach.

She is an active alumna, who co-chaired Reunion ’99 and is currently on the committee planning the 5K and Fun Run for Parents and Reunion Weekend next fall.
