Debbie Scoville Brown ’86 was inducted into the 16th Hall of Fame Class in 2006. A two-sport standout at Notre Dame, Scoville Brown earned several honors as a basketball and softball player.
 
As a shooting guard, Scoville Brown played basketball for the Gators from 1982-1986 and was a captain of the team as a junior and senior.
 
She was a member of some very talented Notre Dame teams and scored the 1,000th point of her career during her the playoffs of the Chesapeake Women’s Athletic Conference her senior year. Scoville Brown was named to the All-CWAC Second Team as a junior, and All-CWAC First Team as a senior. She was also honored as the CWAC Most Valuable Player as a senior in 1986.

On the softball diamond, Scoville Brown was a pitcher and outfielder for the Gators. She was team MVP her senior season.
 
When she was not playing sports, she was a writer for Columns and had an internship with the Baltimore Evening Sun. While at the Sun, she wrote an article about then-basketball standout Cheryl Miller.
 
Scoville Brown received the Sister Patricia McLaughlin Award as the Outstanding Underclass Athlete as a junior in 1985. She graduated from Notre Dame with a degree in communication arts, a field that she stayed in after college.
 
For the last 12 years, she has been the Public Relations Director at the Fire Museum of Maryland and is currently serving as Notre Dame’s 2006 reunion chair.
 
Debbie Scoville Brown is married to Charlie Brown and has a son, Connor.
